Q: What services do you offer?
A: Dozers Dogs provide a DOG WALKING service to the Derry / Londonderry area
Q: Is this like Doggy Day Care?
A: No, we do not provide care for dogs for extended hours during the day. We call to your home and collect your dog for a lovely walk and then return them home. This can provide your dog with an enjoyable break in their day, especially if you are out at work.
Q: Can I book single days? or At Short Notice?
A: I’m afraid that services of Dozers Dogs are in very high demand and the schedules are created well in advance, so we do not provide services for people who just need the odd dog walk here and there. For new clients joining we require that you first sign up to a 4 week trial (8 walks) to allow your dog time to adjust to the routine, make friends and show significant progress before deciding whether to take on regular walking. Once you are happy we can offer the 12 months subscription. We don't take on short term walkers or temporary requests.
Q: Do you provide dog training?
A: No, There are no members on the team with any background or qualifications in dog training. As part of our dog walking services we do work on basic skills and manners to allow all dogs to walk as a group, be well socialised and practice walking on and off-lead on their outings but we do not offer any specific dog training.
Q: What days and times do you offer dog walking?
A: We have 3 group dog walking sessions per day 5 days per week – Monday to Friday at 9am, 12pm and 3pm. Pick ups start about 40 minutes before each walk and it takes about 40 minutes to take everyone home – so your dog will be out of the house for about 2.5 hours.
Q: How many dogs will be there and what size are they?
A: Great Question! - When hiring a dog walker you should always check the staff to dog ratio and also enquire about the set up for safe crated travel in cars and vans. Our groups sizes vary by area of collection and day of the week, but as a general rule there are 3 or 4 dogs in each group, walked by one single dog walker. Where we have two members of staff on the run they may take 5 or 6 dogs out together.
All our vans are fitted with crates of varied sizes for the safe transport of dogs with their own personal space. Dozers Dogs aim to find the right balance of dog size and breed that allows all dogs to meet and socialise with all types and personalities.
Q: Can you collect my dog while I am out at work?
A: Dozers Dogs is insured for Public Liability and Key Holding. All our staff are well trained, discreet and trustworthy for accessing homes using keys. We hold keys unmarked so the connection with your dog or your address is known only to our staff. We access your dog as per your specific instructions and return them in the same way. Safe and Secure.
